My Five Priorities for a Stronger Morehead City

1. Transparency

Government Leadership should never happen behind closed doors. That’s why I led the charge to get our City Council meetings video recorded and publicly accessible. As Mayor, I’ll continue promoting open communication, accountability, and transparency —because you deserve to see how your tax dollars are spent and how your voice is represented.

2. Youth and Families

Our youth are the future of this city. I helped push forward the WS King facility renovation and helped create the City Skatepopup park event — giving kids and families more recreational opportunities close to home. I’ll keep fighting for safe, engaging spaceswhere all generations can connect and thrive.

3. Public Safety

Keeping our community safe is one of my top priorities. I advocated during budget season to increase staffing in our Police and

Fire/EMS departments. As Mayor, I’ll continue to back our first responders with the people, tools, and training they need to meet the demands of our growing population.

4. Strategic Growth Planning

With Interstate 42 coming, Morehead Citymust grow strategically — not fast. I support thoughtful development that honors our current residents while preparing for the future. That means infrastructure first planning, holding developers accountable, and protecting our neighborhoods, environment, and way of life.

5. Parking & Traffic Infrastructure

Our city needs real solutions fortraffic and parking challenges. I’ve proposed building a downtown parkingdeck to better support local workers, visitors, and businesses. I’ll alsowork with NCDOT to improve traffic light timing, add turn lanes whereneeded, and relieve congestion through smart, proactive planning.
